CREATE WITH US
A core part of Navigate Arts vision is to use our venue as an experimental and interdisciplinary incubator for artists. Louise is passionate about developing live performances that centralise an ethical exchange between land, people and place. Both Louise and Matthew are collaborators at heart, and with in-house production and technical equipment and artistry, Navigate Arts welcomes artists from all disciplines to get in touch to discuss your ideas and how we might make your vision a reality!
Since moving to the Bega Valley Shire, Louise has been the project manager for the Bermagui Create and Make Crew who in collaboration with Scott Baker, delivered two major community events Parklight (under the direction of Louise with technical production by Matthew) and SynthSurfers as well as their own final networking and showcase exhibition event at Navigate Arts.
Louise has worked with people of all abilities over her academic and artistic career, designing and implementing applied theatre, verbatim and inclusive interdisciplinary practice into the Deakin University Creative Arts program. Louise and Matthew have more recently been engaged with RealArtWorks (an inclusive ‘post-disability’ company based in Lismore).
Navigate Arts have worked on two major site-specific projects with this company, The Trail of Light and Sound for the Bermagui Sculpture Festival in March and the unUsual Festival in Lismore in November 2019. We have also been part of the COPE collective, with Navigate Arts supporting the development of their 2020 work CONTACT through venue hire, dramaturgy as well as production and technical design. Throughout Feb/March 2020 Blue Sky (Lee Pemberton and Delia Silvan) collaborated with us at the venue, with technical and lighting design by Matthew to develop their new work Another Extinction.
